In the not too distant years there was a real shortage of good motorcycle dealerships in the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. If you have been a local "biker" for many years you may well remember some of the "old" dealerships and motorcycle shops that used to be based here, with a "blast from the past" do you remember Richardsons? (main Suzuki dealer), Bentleys? (Abbeydale Road), Wilf Green's MZ dealership?, DC Cook? (5 star Honda dealership at London Road), Empire Garage? (Fantic and Lambretta dealer - was this on Machon Bank Road?), as well there used to be a Kawasaki dealership at Firth Park, a Harley and AMF dealer on Abbeydale Road (near to Edgedale Road), Smiths on Spital Hill (just up the road from the Wicker Arches) and lots more...

With all of these historic shops gone it is really great that SMC have committed to being here and especially with the main dealerships for in particular Suzuki and Yamaha! Wouldn't it be great if they could secure a Honda dealership too as that is one motorbike brand that is lacking support in this part of the UK? But we can't be ungrateful with what Sheffield Motorcycle Centre has given back to this city - in all, a really good motorcycle shop....
